I finally got the old basterds out...

eyeballing the brute strength ones that I bought with the c clips that fit on the back side after install.

It appears that they will be a bit too wide to get the clip on both sides after install.

Anyone know for sure?

TIA

I just installed the brute strength myself. make sure you have the one with the internal clips and it should go together if you have the right u joint. Press one side in flip it over and press the other side in and you should have room for the clips on the inside. A press and a big socket comes in handy when doing this, otherwise happy wacking uzi

P.s. becareful not to mess up the bearings

Bigblue:

Thanks for the reply. Was it a REALLY tight fit for the clips on the inside? Man I might be an idiot, but it just doesn't eyeball up very good. I guess I will give it a whirl and let you know how it goes. Thanks again! :D

Doesn't hurt to pull the caps off the new joint and make sure one of the needle bearings didn't fall out of line and is keeping caps from sliding on fully to the joint, have had this happen before to myself....
