A friend of mine gave me some 11.5 inch wide hoosier drag slicks? will they fit on my 86 GN?

If you are referring to the stock GN wheel with no modifications or spacers.. I believe 10.5" will be the answer.

The Nitto's are 10.5" and have less than a pinkies width between the back of the tire and the frame rail.. They do not rub, and I don't feel there is any margin for larger tire..

Here's a few pics of 295/50/15s on the rear with 8.5" wheels. You could probably get away with 8", but nothing less.

Thanks BoRob, that pic is deceiving... those fronts look almost like 275/50s. Must be the angle or something. Looks cool.

No rubbing with the 295/50s on 8.5 wheels either. I do run dual airbags with gas shocks.

I just installed (less than 500 miles) Nitto 275x50 15" on stock TR aluminum wheels. They don't rub & hook very well. Great on the street. I'm wanting to see how they do in the rain & am told they do well.
