So you think it could be a cracked head? They were ported out pretty good. I sure hope that isn't the case! Got to be some tests or a method of tracking it down to one thing.

BTW, if they are aluminum heads, I wonder if steel gaskets are a good choice. Aluminum has more give than steel and might work better with a gasket that conforms rather than the head flexing?

Just wondering, no facts to support the thought.

Another night of taking it easy on it...another night of it sitting right on the thermostat at 160 degrees and not doing nothing funny. I did hit 10-12 PSI a few times though. Maybe it is the higher levels where stuff is getting foul. Actually kind of cool to just cruise headbang Knowing you have a ton of power but don't use it yup The darn motor runs good..not smoking a bit now, starts right up, idles like a stocker and is totally smooth riding down the road or around town. Feels like a Grandma car almost silly Going back to the trans shop tomorrow to get the lock-up fixed. When I get it back I am filling it with C-16 and headed to the track. It will either go or blow. If it blows I know what I have to do yup

Spend about four times as much money as you would if you figured it out before it blew?
