So I thought it would be a good idea to get a VDO EGT gauge to match my boost gauge.

anyway at WOT I never see over 1300 and at cruise in Drive its around 800. Is the unit being stupid or do I just need to ditch it and go with the digital?

I have a Westach probe and guage off the old mans airplane, should I give that a wirl? It will be a bit of a pain to switch them out.

First, where did you install the probe? In the up pipe by the O2 sensor?

If so, it would be nice to verify the guage readings. The Westtachs are known to be very accurate in normal circumstances.

There are two possibilities, the gauge is wrong or the car is too rich. (assuming you have the probe in the up pipe)

I normally run around 1100-1200 at cruise.

1250* here on the hwy at 120km/h

go to http://teamrip.com for a great K-type probe. The supplied probes from VDO and Autometer are caRp.

the probe is directly across from the O2 sensor, I hook my westach guage up to the existing probe, see what happens.
