I'm thinking of putting a fresh set of springs on the TR. I have read that a high mileage car could use them. Mine has 155k and still running great.I would like to see if there is a difference in performance with new springs.
What special tools are involved?
Where can I find detailed instructions.
How much time is involved?

1. Kirbans valve spring tool. Piece of an original rocker shaft or a piece of 1/2" emt pipe, holds the tool end.

2. Do a search here for the install instructions or at turbobuick.com or at gnttype.org.

3. Newbie? 2 hours a head. Much less if the valve covers are off already.

Thanks Salvage,
What do you say as far as performance is concerned? Will there be a hint of power increase at higher RPM's?
I'm gonna do a search and see if I can read up on it before I tackle it.

Seat of the pants yes. Just did two cars. Haven't had Direct Scan on them yet to verify if the extra rpm has really been picked up WOT.

After you do it believe me you will want to feel an increase... LOL...

I used Comp. Cams 980's one set with Buick valve seals one set with Felpro valve seals.

New cork gaskets on both cars.

Push rods should go back in the same lifter they came out of.
