A friend did a V8 Blazer conversion some years ago. 350 out of an 86 Corvette, 700R from something else I forget what, carbed, with A/C, and used serpentine belt accessory drive brackets from a 91 C1500. Used the Jaguars That Run book as a guide.

Ran a 15.50 or so, but we didn't want it all that fast as the kid was 16. Handled like a pig, brakes verged on scary which was my biggest complaint. The other thing was the rear suspension was a bit stiff so that when it would go over a dip in the road it would nudge your head forward. Not really bad but kinda annoying just the same. The kid didn't care, and I wouldn't have at his age either.
