What causes turbo seal failure? Mine is blowing oil like crazy, take off the intercooler outlet pipe and oil drips out. You can smell oil while driving. When I punch it, and alot of times while just sitting there, white smoke is puffing out. I thought maybe not cooling off the turbo could have fried the seals, but that was basically proved wrong by my last post(turbo timer)

I was told the biggest beating the turbo takes is when under boost the throttle is closed. There is nowhere for the air to go so it backs up into the turbo and tries to spin the impeller backwards(reversion). That puts a huge load on the seals. That is why I was thinking about a bypass valve

Turbo timers, Bypass Valves eek! This is starting to sound like Honda.com ugh Neither part is needed for our cars. Save your money and buy a big wing. It will do as much good.
