Ticking coming from cam sensor area is this normal?

they do that as they get worn. Mine does it too, have read many others doing it as well. Im throwing a new cam sensor in just cause Im getting new rotating assy too

Mine does it too, espescially when cold.
put a stick/screwdriver or something on top of the cap to your ear
and it really sounds bad..

i got a new sensor just havent been motivated enough to drop it in

I was using a funnel and hose to listen for vac and exhuast leaks and run the hose over the cam sensor. Man was it loud thru the funnel :crazy:

I just went through the same thing with my 87 T.It was really screwing up the way it was running and it was making a really loud tapping sound.I replaced the cam sensor and it has been running brand new since.

I did not use a funnel. :D It made me laugh when I pictured him with a funnel to his ear. :D

Just be careful your brain fluid doesn't drain out and get on the engine. It's caustic and will damage painted surfaces.
