At times, when sitting still or barely moving, the steering becomes very stiff on my GN.

Is there some valve that sticks in the box and is it fixable? Or is it time for another box. It's been doing this for several years so I have let it age well.

The lines comming out at the bottom may be too tight a radius and restricting flow. I don't think anyone makes the formed hoses anymore and the straight hose is used by many. Ya got to leave it long so it won't crimp. Also drain it an put in fresh. I'm assuming you know about the orginal recall and the correct res has left hand threads.

Post some bs to Zap and you will be a member quickly...

I have had this one since new and it has been upgraded back in '86 when the recall was done.

Apparently there is an internal valve that regulates pressure based on engine speed to maintain consistency in assist. If I rev mine a little it gets easier to turn and it does not do it all the time.

Hoses are original and I have flushed it now and again.

Probably time to do that again just to keep it quiet.
