My seatbelts do not retract very well. I have both the spring loaded units in so when the door closes it winds back the seatbelt,( forget the name of those things) that doesnt seem to help much, the only way i can get them to retract is if i tug on it and let go, then it will retract fully. Is there something worn out b.c of age that could be repaired inside the unit behind the limo window panel? or can something like this be rebuilt...anyone know of any companies that rebuild seatbelt units.
thanks.

Those inertia release thingies are worn out. The coils lose their tension. Left side still available from GM. Part number 20304171. Right side is discontinued. Someday I'm going to see if it is possible to put some tension back in these. Right now I'm thinking maybe a piece of vacuum hose wrapped around the coil and held tight with tie wraps. If I can get one apart with out butchering it I may try a piece of welding rod to replace the coil.
