Raise car and support (with jack stands) on the frame. Place floor jack under center of differential and lift (but not high enough to raise the vehicle off the jack stands). Remove the lower shock bolt from each shock and remove the shock out of the stud. Slowly lower the differential until the springs unseat. Be careful not to stretch the flexible brake hose attached to the middle of the differential housing. If it does, you may have to separate the brake hose. If you stretch the brake hose, it may crack or break and require replacement. Once the spring(s) unseat, remove them one at a time. It probably will slide out in front of the differential or to the rear if you don't have the factory muffler in place. You may end up having to remove the rear tires to get the spring out. There is a hat for the bottom and top of each spring perch. You may need to replace them or reuse the old ones. Reverse for installation. Don't forget about the hats in the spring perches.
