my rearend has a limited slip tag on it and was wondering if it takes a certain type of limited slip fluid or if any limited slip fluid will work?

Any posi fluid is ok but add the GM additive! I used 1 1/2 bottles to be sure! Without it I got chatter on tight turns.

Use the GM limited slip gear oil with the additive.

sometimes using more than the prescribed amount of additive will cause slipping and faster wear of the clutches...

It seems that every rear is different. Mine takes 2 bottles of GM addative. I always try one first, with regular dino gear lube. Its fine for a while, then starts to chatter, so I add another bottle of posi addative.

With only 1 bottle I get chatter. 1 1/2 & perfect.
Guess something must make each rear like its own mix! Miles, wear & tear, general condition??

With 1 bottle of additive and GM lube you should not have chatter. If you do, It's not the lubes problem it's a problem in your posi unit.
