powersix What are your opinions on putting a rear spoiler on a 87 Type T. Would it devalue the car ? This car is a low mile , white with grey interior, slightly modified no rust beauty. I love the spoiler on the GN. Yes or No??

Hey Bob

I would pick up the corner cones off a Regal and new truck lid painted to match your T, then pick up the fibreglass reproduction from the lady on Ebay. Have it painted white install all the parts and keep the old ones for when and if you need to change back to stock look.

You will increase the value with this as the new dude gets more parts and who would not want that?

I hope you still love her....

I will be away for a few weeks, but Tina will forward my emails if you need anything.

I thought the T-Types all came with the same type of spoiler that the GNs have.
If this is the 1 you are talking about. Go for it.
My 84 T-Type has 1 on it.
If you are talking about a ricer spoiler.
Don't make us cry by putting it on your car.

Only the WH1 package (aside from the GN) got the rear spoiler as far as I know.

Jeff: The only problem with getting the other end caps and trunk is the color match. It would be difficult to match I would think. If it didn't, It would make me sick. And yes I still love this car. I learn something new about her every week. A challenge ,but worth it.

Unless you have some very rare combination to begin with, it will not diminish the value.

I personally like the rear spoiler on a T. Although any collector car is going to be worth the most in unmolested, low mile, unrestored condition. White is not difficult to match without blending. I personally would find another deck lid and end caps to modify and save the originals. That way if you ever wanted to return to stock you could. The cost is minimal and you already have to paint the spoiler.

I agree!! I have a GN spoiler and have been considering putting it on my car. Get a new deck lid and make sure you do this right! Get the rear deck lid and the spoiler painted at the same time. Thats the way to go. I am very pickey, and thats what I would do. Also, white is not as easy to match as people think. Food for thought.

Some cars got a "dealer installed" spoiler.
Even some WE4s were sold brand new with a spoiler already installed. I don't think it would decrease the value at all.

Paint match is another story altogether...white is a bitch!
