How hard is it to change the rear main seal on my t-type? I called a Buick dealer and they want $500.00 to replace it..

It is not that hard!!!
Way to much!
Use a neopreme not the rope seal.
The seal is about 10. at most and I would say it is a 4 hour job for a non-professional.
The oilpan has to be dropped and if I remember a couple of bolts are hard to get to.
First check all the oil pan bolts before you have the seal replaced. Do no overthighten and thighten criss cross like you do on lug nuts. If you are real lucky, this could be the cause of your leak.

WE4ster, it really isn't that hard, as long as you are somewhat mechanicly inclined. Easier with a lift but can be done on the ground. If you E-Mail me I will give you a daytime(est)phone# and can give you a detailed discription.
