Well the rear is making the humming sound.
Should i replace the gears or what should i do. My dad found a set of Richmond 3:90 gears what do you guys think about those?

last night a checked the fluid and it didnt come right out the plug and i couldnt touch it with my pinky. Should i add just additive and see what happens?

No on the 3.90s, stick with the factory ratio of 3.42.

Find out what is wrong with the rear end. Might be the gears, might be the pinion, carrier, or axle bearings.

Sounds like it is low on oil-probably too low, too long, but the cheapest thing would be to add oil and see what happens.

Buick got it right the first time around so stay with what you have.
Pontiac did a pretty good job with the gears in the TTA's with 3.27's. I have tried different ratio's and have always gone faster using less gear (effective) ie. 3.42 with a 28" tall tire.
