I had front and back one aluminum from factory, so they're out there.
You know about cutlass factory aluminum hoods right?

The stock steel one I had weighed 28#. After chopped the center and ends of it off of support it weighed 14#. So I will stick with my stock aluminum one. :D

They're out there. The last one I saw was on a 88 Supreme Classic. Fully loaded as far as options go. The front was aluminum and the rear was steel. I haven't figured out the Cutlass's yet, like I have the Regals. Them aluminum hoods are getting hard to find.

I was able to shave another pound off the aluminum ones on my 455 Regal. The used ones from the boneyard had a bit more corrosion than I cared for so I used some mag wheel cleaner and pressure washed the loose stuff off. I than got a wild hair and took the sand blaster to them and took the top layer off. It was kind of a waste of time but they sure looked pretty after I got done with them.

I had to replace mine a few years ago and bought one from a board member.

When it arrived all it had was a shipping sticker attached to it, no box or wrapping of any kind.

Thanks for the information on the cutlass guys.

I thought aluminum hoods were only on the 78-81 years :dunno:

Maybe i will start hunting down these light bumper supports
