Possible MAF problem

1561 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  TurboShane
Here are my symtoms. Rough idle and misses, dies at stop sign and after pressing on the gas hard and letting off. Runs good when pressing on the gas just hard enuf to accelerat. Get boost flutter and runs a little rough at 3/4 throttle. Bucking at cruising speed in o/d lite throttle. Readings are 7-9 idle 20-30 cruising and seems to be reacting slowly. Runs a little while maybe 5 seconds when I unpluged it at idle. Are these the symptoms of bad MAF? Thanks for any help.

i'd think thats good numbers.. tap the MAF with a screw driver and see what happens.
I used to have a problem like that, it was my O2 sensor. That might be the problem

How old is the coil pack? Mine was doing similar things when it went south..

7-9 GPS Idle? Unless the car is idling at 1200rpms, it's bad.

Should be no more than 6GPS for a normal idling car.

Would a broken rocker arm cause the same kind of problems I listed, because I hear some noise coming from the valve cover.
