I was wondering what would happened if my oil pressure sending unit plug fell off? Will it turn on the idoit lit or just not work, if it really did lose oil pressure?

Steve, How does the backup fuel pump relay relate to the oil pressure
sending unit. If I lose oil pressure does it cut power to the fuel pump? Just trying to understand.

no, it does not.

when the oil pressure rises to 4#, then the switch in the sensor closes and allows power to pass thru the switch to the pump. Therefore, if the fuel pump relay fails, if you crank the engine until the oil pressure rises to 4+ psi, power will go to the fuel pump and allow it to run. Purely a back up system to keep from stranding you.

Now, if you remove the relay so that the only path to the pump was thru the sensor, then it would shut off the power to the pump and thereby kill the engine...but this cannot happen as long as a functional relay is installed.
