I hear a loud moaning noise when i apply the brakes and it isn't my girlfriend. What is it? Is my master cylinder bad?

The car stops just fine and the pedal feels normal. The noise is coming from under the hood near the brake booster. It only occurs when the car is cold.

Powermaster motor is on the way out or the brake pressure switch is bad(not cutting off at correct pressure) or both bad. I assume you have the proper brake fluid level and not running dry. All will cause a high pitch squeal.

Thats what I was afraid of. Last time I checked powermasters cost a pretty penny. Any body know of the best place to purchase one?

Check out my web site for PM sales and info. We do have a production problem at the moment and I am not sure when we will be back in production. Probably a couple more weeks.

I bought one of Hanks new replacement motors about 2 years ago. Great unit. Its worth the wait until his production starts again.

My pump made noises for 3 years before I removed it for a rebuilt. Mine only sounded like angry killer bees, not some cheap hooker.

advanced auto parts (among others) sells a complete system for $250. that's the motor, switch, lid, the ENTIRE setup. it's also got a lifetime warrenty.
