Nittos

I bought two Nitto DRs last week and i am excited to put them on my car. I am just waiting to get two new rims from Classic Industries, but they are on back order.

Anyways, I hear good things about them and I had a couple of questions.

Should I smoke them, and how long? How much of a difference is there when hot? I know not to take them through the water box. Their website says that they can be used well below 2/32 of tread, just not on the street. The site actually says to stop using them when you see nylon. What is everyone's experience along these lines? The first things I noticed that the tires are very soft to the touch and have much less tread than my Yokohamas. But they are 6/32 like they should be.

Thanks.

5-7 second burnout in the area that is damp to prevent wheel hop, then go NHRA style and let it roll out of the burnout.
give that a wirl.

Let the tires seat for at least 24 hours before you smoke them. Otherwise you could lose your balance.

I'd like to get some Nitto's. Everyone says they are better than the BFG's. I pulled a 1.69 with my BFG's, stock suspension with an air bag. I think that might be a hard 60 footer to beat.

Huh?

Nitto's 1.6x Short Time Receipe -
Install (2) air bags in car. Fill them with a little air, then let the air all the way out. I have had the best luck with the airbags empty.
Run the drivers side Nitto at 16psi and passengers side at 16.5.
Back into water. Not all the way, but just were it starts to get wet. Do nice burnout for about 4seconds with shifter in 2nd. Drive out of it as seen here..

Launch with however much boost the track will tolerate. Typically about 4 - 6 psi. 1.6x's over and over again. Stock turbo.

Some assembly required, call store for details, results may vary!

I meant if your using the tires on the street. And had them balanced, if you smoke the tires, you could turn the tire on the rim and lose the balance.

Hey, where is the 5.Loser? Your racing the same car in both.
