hi. My name is dan, i bought ud luze's car 3 weeks ago. Very nice car, I'm happy guys want something for nothing. I made a deal with dan before i even saw the car and it looked even better in person. I had a hard time loging in to the forum until brad told me the way last night at shannonville. I had a hard time doing that i should have fun keeping the car running like dan has it now. Looking foward to meeting people on the board and any help would be very helpful.

Comments like this are the exact reason why I turned my back on the Buick community quite some time ago.

Dan pulled into the pits last nite and asked me to check his SM...so I did. 02's were 770 and KR was 2.6. BLM's at idle were 117. Now here's the weird part. I checked the WOT setting on Erics chip...and it said 128...which is default. Eric always errs on the rich side...so I put this question to you. Did you originally have that chip burned for a smaller turbo? If you did, then that would explain the low 02 reading...as Eric set the fuel for a smaller turbo. If you had it burned for the 60...then he's got another issue. To compensate for the KR, I bumped up the alky...he made another pass...and the KR dropped to .2

It was leaning out on the top end. Lucky it wasn't cool out last nite...or he woulda gone home on my trailer. I can put a FP gauge under the wiper in 2 weeks to check to see if the fuel pressure is rising 1 for 1. I'll assume the FP is set to 43-44 line off.

Nope.... I had the TE-60 when I ordered the chip..... however I didn't re-adjust for more fuel in the spring after the battery was out for the winter.... I believe all settings go back to defaults when the battery is disconnected..... I suggested to Dan to go up 2 lbs on the regulator, and add fuel via the chip. He has all the paperwork on the Turbotweak chip on how to adjust it.... but if you wanna help him out, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

If KR is only .2, thats pretty damn good. I told him to unhook the exhaust because his mph was so low. Its a pretty restrictive system on that car.... Thats all I ever did.... and ran constant 11.8's just the way it is now.

Do you remember what his 60' times were like? If he didn't inflate the airbags at all, that may hurt his 60's.... My best 60' was 1.55, but was consistantly in the 1.6's..... but that was at Milan (an excellent track). Not sure how well they prep Shannonville.... but every .1 at the 60' mark equates to .15 at the big end. He could be losing .75 right there??

I don't know what his 60 was...but he has his time slips. Traction was decent as you can tell from the pics I posted...but likely nowhere as good as Milan. I bumped the alky from 20-24 to get the KR down. I have no idea what boost pressure he left the line at. He can either add WOT fuel and lower the alky back to 20...or he can compensate with alky...up to him.

Nice to see another GN in the area. There are actually quite a few original GN owners around here, but the cars seem to be tucked away for now. Look forward to seeing your GN cruising around. Can remember no less than 4 GN's & "T"'s running around the area back in the day, even the Mayor of Belleville had one dialed up fairly decently at one time. There was even a Turbo Trans Am in the area back then, GM exec Dick Baker owned it.

That was my first time drag racing. My 69 ft times are all 2.1, i hope to get better. I didn't inflate the air bags or unhook the exhaust but i will in 2 weeks. I will turn up the fuel pressure. Hopefully brad will be there to check things out before i start. I thought anything below 5 :dunno: would be ok now i know its should be zero. Once again thanks to brad and Dan for there help. To the guys in the area I've only seen one gn in Belleville in the last 2 years. I should be at the drags in 2 weeks if you want to come out and say Hi. If i don't work on tuesday night I'll be at Zeller's for the car show.

I'll bring my GN out to Zeller's Tuesday, see you there. Tonight I'm taking the GTO out for a rip to Trenton, I think it's at Centenial Park tonight.

What you're asking...right now...is irrelevant. When I hopped in the car to check the SM...the temp was at 198 degrees...air conditioning going full blast...IC was heat soaked...and the alky was so hot it was almost steaming. I doubt he had the DR's even aired down. What he needs to do right now...is learn. Dan...the original owner was kind enuf to shoot me his phone number. I'm gonna give him a call and get a heads up on some of the settings he used in the past.

True enough, Beach. Few of us local guys were trapping 104mph on stock setup with 16psi on 94 octane and a 100 octane thrasher chip. If I recall it was only 26'C that day. I'm sure it was brutally hot when you guys ran.

A couple weeks back when Ron came down from Hamilton...the heat...was unbearable. Fifty percent of the cars were misfiring going down the track...and I'm betting it was from the heat.
