The blocks are nothing alike, and share Nothing. The 3.0L's are a 60° V6, while the 3.8's are 90° blocks.
what about changing the motor completey. would i be to mount a 3800 in the car, if not what performace upgrades could i do to the 3.0?
Overall it may sound like a fun project, but the real-world details are gonna kill ya. If you want to go fast, buy a 4-5k TR and go from there. You will spend near that (or more) to go slower with the transplant.

If it were my car... and I was stuck with THAT car and wanted to do something up. First off what did they have for HP? I seem to recall 160 HP or was that the 3.3L V6 that had 160 HP??? Yeah I think yours might be 130 HP..

Anyways... what I would do.. leave the stock ECM/chip, K&N filter or some sort of cold air kit if you can make or buy one, 180* stat, A 2.5" cat back Mandrel bent exhaust with Dyno Max race magnum [straight thru design but quiet], An upgraded fuel pump [you could make a walbro 307 work in there I bet], and then a dry 50-75 HP nitrous oxide kit, if you need new tires... by some that are a little lower profile [not as tall] as that will help give you a bit better "gear effect" as far as off the line. Gut all the extra weight you can find = sound deadener and tar, spare tire and hardware etc...

If I had tons of money I would do little off the wall projects like this all the itme for fun to see what I could get em to run...
