I myself have the MSD setup.
I do like a couple features that come with the Ign. Many people will say that a stock ign will take you along ways and good for some pretty low track times.
I wanted more volts to make sure it is going to fire my plugs well.
Some people don't take into consideration the gas is different in some areas.
Though the price can be quite daunting with these units. So.. If you want to run 1....
Also. If you do decide to get it. do order the little vibration mounts that are available through summit or jegs.
I ordered my stuff through Jegs. But didn't order the Vibration mounts for mine. I will though.
Also.
If you want an updated approach to spark (not sure if it's any better) You could switch over to the type II ign.
Type II uses the 3 coil pack instead of 1 big coil pack. As well as a different ign module.
Can be cheaper to replace if 1 Coil pack dies as I have seen them listed cheap as opposed to bombing out around $80 for a big coil.
Again. totally up to you.
