Has anyone purchased one of these being offered on this site? Who makes them and are they reputable? Just curious.

China makes them

They come with a One Year Warranty. I have used them on my 4.1 and 3.8 with great success. I have never needed to use shims. They sound a little different, and in my opinion spin the motor over faster.

I am sure some other guys will chime in.

Paul, I run one and love it. Lots of room and away from the DP, X over, tranny lines etc. No shims needed and cranks the engine over like mad! And very light weight! The one shown is the better one of that type starter. Gene

ILBCNU6: Regarding the mini starter sold on this Site: You mentioned that the one pictured, was the best of the starters of this type! Does this mean that if I were to order one of these starters, from this Site, that I might get either another inferior model-or, would I definately get the better one, that you referred to being pictured? Please clarify this-because I want to order two of these starters right away(After I hear from you)because I want to order, only if I can be certain of receiving the good one(Better of the two possibilities)as you mentioned?

If anyone else might know about this, I would like to get your input also? Thankyou!

A friend of mine has one ordered from here on his car. Its really nice, Im going to order one when the motor goes back together. Its a nice weight savings and a better starter.

ILBCNU6 - Not sure what other style starter is being described. TurboBuicks.com sells the brand new Mini-Starter which fits great and turns the motor over faster than the stock starter. Sounds a little different too.
