when i get my machine work done is there any thing i should tell my guy to do ? do these engs like tighter specs ?

Man, you've got some reading to do!


And, yes, these engines need tight clearances. Very tight if you're used to SBCs.

Go to gnttype.org and read the article they have on engine rebuilding specs. They give all of the clearances and torque specs. Print it and give it to the machinist.

ok thanks guys , i have been read , an i read your article about timing covers (earlbrown ) an thats what made me ask about clearances . an yes i am used to sbc , but i now have found a gn as i have always wanted one .
