Hey guys....and gals

I have a 3.8 stage ll motor I am gathering parts for.
Being able to rely on the knock sensor is a concern for me. I like the knock sensor.
I dont want to set any records with this motor just have a reliable 10 sec sled for a longtime. I hate working on these things

My question is what is the largest flat tappet cam in the 5600-6000 range that will virtually guarenteed to be quiet.
Using GM lifters is also a given.
I would , and may use the stock cam. It is easy to get a 10 out of it and it is quiet.
However, using a stouter block will allow me to twist it a little harder reliably.
Thanx

Steve,

I'm setting up a similar engine (3.8L Stage-1) for a similar goal. I'm going to use an ATR billet roller (309H).

I currently have a cast roller in my stock block, and it does not set off the knock sensor at all.

I know this doesn't answer your question about flat tappets, but it's the best I can do.
