Intake Gaskets

Do most of you run the factory rubber end seal gaskets, or use silicone in place of them. I used silicone on the front and rear ends of the intake and now I finally found my little oil leak. It's leaking from the corners where the intake and head meet. My local engine builder told me to use silicone and now its leaking there!!! Maybe I should use the factory end seals instead???

Thanks

I generally use both...thin coat of silicone on the bottoms to glue them in place and a daub, or dab, in each corner to fill any potential gaps. Straight silicone should work okay if you get the surfaces clean so it will adhere properly.

I use just the rubber seal and have had no problems at all. Dumping the seal and just using silicone is for chebys.
I do as the intakes gasket makers suggests. Install end rubbers dry and dap silicon in all four corners. I never has a leak.
