I am looking for information on how to add the later computer controlled V6 into a 1981 Firebird. I am sorry I did not browse your list, but maybe this will be a new enough question to stimulate some interest.

well you would have to fabricate the engine mounts, crossmember for whatever tranny you plan on using, if you are using the 200-4r then you won't need an adapter plate for the bell housing.

To make the computer in the other car using those gauges ignition and all that you might need a different ignition system to actually interface with it.

If you don't want any of that, you can make a custom dash for the gauges speedo sensors and all that.

I would like to know how to use the computer on this 1981 car. I suppose there is a company out there that makes the harness. Plus I know it will need O2 sensors and the stuff that goes with it, like cats etc

For an older vehicle w/LC2 swap, I would go with a Megasquirt, don't bother with the '7148, I mean it works, but it is prehistoric in comparison...

KISS is an understatement, as Megasquirt also has auto tune when your ready to start the engine and go, just set it to your target air/fuel ratio, and it does everything for you, VE, SA, everything. No tuner needed, and the tuning is immediate...

Also as motor mounts go, I had a 1978 Firebird with a Buick V6 from the factory. 2nd Gen mounts are out there if you scour eBay and the wrecking yards. The frame stands use the standard rubber Buick V6 motor mounts.
