I have a 67 turbo and a 3400 stall on the shelf waiting to go on.

I wanted to make sure this fresh engine was performing it's best with stock parts first (good idea right?)

The trans has been rebuilt and it shifts great, good drops on the DS scope graph.

Do you think I can squeeze a 10.99 with the bigger turbo and converter? On race fuel and high boost of course.

The only thing I noticed that will hold you back with your build is stock heads and intercooler. It should run pretty quick with a 67 turbo and 3400 stall assuming it gets tuned well but like I said the heads and intercooler will hold it back.

Thanks for the feedback!
My heads have mild porting like the casting flash and sharp edges removed and the chambers smoothed. The lower intake ports match the heads but I didn't go all the way down in. I want to put aluminum heads on next season.

Well at least you have a bit of work done to your heads, that will help.

Now your stock intercooler will be a plug to your system especially with the aluminum heads for next year, might be a good idea to keep your eye's open for a deal on either a front mount or a nice stock location intercooler like the Precision. :yup:

Also I assume you have a good hot wired fuel pump in your car? :dunno:

Good luck with your car,

I got the car all buttoned up last night.
It's a much different beast now. It's hard to believe at 50mph roll that it will leave rubber on the road until I let off.
Anyways, I did some gradual pulls up to about 12# and O2s looked good, no KR. Motor seems to rev faster too.
67 turbo makes a totally different sound than the stock one.
Under acceleration the speedo needle used to move smooth but now it looks like it's leaping.

I can't imagine how it will run with 110 and high boost/timing level.

Finally I will be turning up the wick this week at test n tune.
Here are my baseline settings: I will slowly increase boost until I see KR
Does this look good to start out at? I'll only get maybe, 3 passes.

110 octane
20# boost
20` low gear timing - 18` high gear timing
Left air bag- 6psi
Right air bag - 12psi
Slicks - 13psi
Launch off of E-brake with 10 psi boost

Slight change in baseline settings... could have gave it more timing and boost but I wanted to creep up on it. Didn't have enough passes to do so.

I only made 2 passes

So it looks like you went a little more than a second quicker and picked up 10 mph on your first trip back to the track and you did not break anything, that is a good day!!! :)

It looks like it is running a little rich and you were still working the boost and timing up. Adding timing to the 1st and 2nd gear is going to make traction more important, and I guess that is why you spun more on your second pass.

Congratulations, keep tuning and tweaking and you will keep going faster, just keep monitoring all of the vitals and make small changes.
