I thought the red wire going over the top of the gas tank was the hot wire. But while working on fixing a non functioning gas guage,I found out the red wire is for the fuel level sending unit.So how do I how do I hot wire my pumps and do I need to hot wire them seeing that there is two pumps in my tank.

My advice is to dump the dual pumps and go with a single 340. Dual pumps on your combo will cause more problems than they help if both are working.

Two pumps draw twice the current as one so a hot wire kit is needed even more. No matter, stock wiring was inadequate for one pump in most cases and, an upgraded pump will require more than a stock unit.
