I don't want to pay $40 and wait five days for a torque strap. I noticed I could go down to my local hardware store and make my own for half the price and in about 20 minutes. I just want to know what I need to be aware of.

What workload should the strap have?
Do I need the elastic strap? (I read at Kirbans that if the strap does not give you will break motor mounts)
Any special type of I-bolt I should use?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Make sure the eye-bolt is closed type and not a hook. Hardware stores also sell "turnbuckles" that you can add nuts to secure adjustment.
Should b out the door $12.00 later

For an 11 second car and above I believe a torque strap in nonsense. Why not get some new $9 motor mounts and be done with it? dunno

yup ...or just get a set of Moroso solid motor mounts for under $30.00, just in case you go 10.99.
