Good news: Did the trans fluid in the vacuum today & no leaks as far as we could see. Put 2 oz and the again 2 oz Is that enough? Straight out the tail pipes!
Bad news: Hard on the brake & rev until tire spin 1800-1900?? The tires were cold but not very impressive?? No wonder my 60 ft went down a second in 10 years. 1.6-2.6 (last time at track & comparing to this year) These are new goodyear radials but 1800 rpm?? Time for a new converter i guess?? Opinions??

Are your rear brakes good, correctly adjusted, drums round?

Is that the original converter? Never heard of one going tight with age.

New rear brakes this summer, S-10 cylinders but they were cold tires. Seemed low to me but 5 times same result. The tranny was worked on 5-6 years ago & I spent equivilent of $600 US money. The shop was recommended by National performance. The Toronto guys just love him (NOT!!) as reading in posts!!
This thing used to do 1.6 every weekend on Hoosier dot's???

PS: Not really sure what the tranny shop did?
The car would not go when they got it!

Has it done 1.6s since the tranny was done? Sounds like a n/a converter was put in it.

Drop the converter shield and look for the "D5" stampings on the converter. If it's something else, there's a good chanve someone else is running around with your converter. frown

I have a known large exhaust leak. Sucked trans fluid into the vacuum line while running. Even looking at the known exhaust leak with a flash light, it didn't smoke at all from that area, just out the tail pipes. Not sure how reliable trans fluid is for finding leaks. dunno

Not since they FIXED it but i only went out this year & thats it. Feels good driving but no 60 ft.
You figure the converter is from a regular 3.8?
I think maybe they gave me the House Special??
Ahh well, wanted to get a higher stall for christmas anyways!! I'm gonna heat the tires good & see what happens just for fun!
At least thru this board I have learned so much info that I never had a clue before!!

The Goodyears are new this summer GT4's, bigger than stock, 32 psi. The Hoosiers were a Great Tire for me and held good but 18-1900 seems pretty low. Going to heat them up a bit and do it again.
