Am going to have to replace timing chain in my '86 3.8L.
Does anyone know if there is a gear drive available? I don't want to have to repeat this repair, and I'm told the timing chain is this engine's Achilles heel.

Unless somthing new came out lately the gear drives can drive the knock sensor nuts. Get a good steel gear timing chain set. I like the stock style with tensioner.

Go with the steel DynaMax gears that can found at any autoparts store. Can't go wrong with them and they are $15 to boot.
