won't shut off!

I turned the ignition off and the engine killed but the pump stayed ON. Luckily, I have a pump kill switch. Checked that switch...OK.

Went for a drive and turned the key off, engine off, and the pump turned OFF (Normal). Started the car again, turned the ignition OFF, engine off, and the pump stayed ON (huh?).

"Think you can trick me?" I said, talking into the glove box.

I then pulled the wires on the solenoid (pass. side) and the pump stayed ON (what the duck?). Pulled both solenoid wires just in case I pulled the wrong one...still running.

"Hah," came a sound from the glove box.

I left and went home...turned the key off and the pump turned OFF (duh!).

Good thing I have my Vespa to make it to my shock therapy meetings. silly

Ignition Switch?

Where to start? help

Yes to all of the above, Steve.

Can the relay be taken apart to clean the contacts?

Just get a new one?
