Going with Nittos 275/50/15 on the back.

Anyone use either of these front tires, looking for good/bad feedback. Car will be driven in all types of weather excepting snow/ice got 4 snows for that.

Mostly need handling braking information. Treadwear isn't that important they will all outlast 2 sets of Nittos I think.

Michelin Pilot XGT H4 ->$105EA.

BFG Comp TA VR4 ->$93 EA.

Yokohama
AVS Intermediate 235/60x15 ->$78EA.

All 3 brands come in this size which will be used. P235/60R-15

Prices are approximate and play no factor in the decision.

TIA

My 87 has those exact tires and I like them. There was a marked braking improvement over the Bridgestone tires that were on the car when I bought it.

I can't really say about handling because I had made quite a few suspension upgrades to the car shortly before I bought the Yokos.

I think they're very good in the rain too. Although they'll no doubt outlast your Nittos, the treadware rating is not that high. I think around 20k ?
FWIW, I'd buy them again.

I really like my Goodyear Eagle GTII's. Very happy with the performance of that tire.
The BFG is supposed to be a very good tire.

Joe my car came with the Goodyear Eagles on it, I still can't force myself to buy another Goodyear tire.

Yeah, I know they improved them....

I was leaning towards the Michelin but I'm not sure now...

Two sets of Nittos would match up perfectly with the Yokos'...

Do the Firestones come in 235/60/15?

Do they make that model in the non-exploding series?

Zippy! American tire brands don't make the size I want anymore, kinda strange a couple of ricer brands support American iron car tire sizes eh?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Don't particularly like BFG tires but I've heard some good things about the V4R's.

Wish Dunlop still made the D40's....

Ordered the Nittos today!

Gotta say that Bosch German starter is far superior to your cheaply made American crap...

Ricer tires may end up on the car I am leaning towards the Yoko's or maybe the Michelins...

Whadda you think Zap?

Hey Salvage,

FWIW - I'm going to try the SS20s on my next tire buy. They are available in 235/60. I know Firestones aren't in vogue now because of all the Exploder incidents, but I've not been able to find many bad reviews of the SS20s.

Take a look at tirerack's customer comments. Most of them are very positive. That info and $10 will get you a latte at Starbuck's.

I'll give you the lowdown when (if) I get 'em. But only after you get the Corbeau installed.

Hey Toady! That'll be a 2 year wait unless the stock market picks up!

The foam isn't totally destroyed in the new GN and the rest of it is falling apart such as cruise control, rear defroster needs soldering again, more bolt on replacement stuff, one side blinkers are intermittant, tape player is dead, right side dash speaker is out. Needs POR15 on the surface rust, new headliner, Bosch 42.5 injectors......

You name it, it needs it. Way ahead of the seat replacement...

When I want to go somewhere comfortable I just use salvageV6, stereo is killer and so is the performance.

Sometimes winter ain't so bad.

I'll have the Yoko's on the car before I get my SS20 review.
