what kinda power can you get out of a 3" downpipe? car is stock, except 2.5' ATR stainless exhaust. which brand pipe is best? what is a good, cheap intake kit? i suppose a 9' cone k&n is good for a few hp?
i have a hotwire kit but i'm not exactly sure what it does....prime fuel pump?

I would say leave your downpipe until you really get into bigger power numbers. But that's just me. Did I mention I'm broke? Some say Terry Houston is the best downpipe, I like ATR. The intake you want is the Big Mouth, but I forgot where and who I got it from, it's a cold air and comes with a 4"x9" K&N with it. Your hotwire kit is a wire going from the back of your alternator to your fuel, it's gives the pump around 13.5 to 14.5 volts instead of 12 or less, thus increasing fuel delivery.

If you still have the stock fuel pump you probably should upgrade to a Walbro 307 or 340. The stocker is real old.
