Extender chip Loop Control?

1189 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  TurboJim
I have three options with the chip: normal closed loop idle; open loop idle; and full time open loop. The default is normal closed loop idle. Would option two or three be better for my combo? Thanks.

Option 2 might idle smoother....really, the only way to know is to try each one and see what you think.

I will try option 2. Is there any advantage to option 3?

I did option 2 and now I get a trouble code of 'bad or missing calpack'. Is this normal or something to worry about?

don't recall seeing this code....try clearing the ecm.

Option 3 is probably an attempt to be like the MaxEffort but it's not.

I cleared the ECM and the code went away. Of course, it also took away the open loop idle.
I sent an email to Bob Bailey to see what he says. Thanks.
Bob said it is normal for the code to set in this loop mode.

Bob made a post on the other board about this. 54 sets open loop, 51 sets quick spool...etc...etc..etc
