Picked up a 4.1 engine. The block is a 25514291 and the heads are 25506293.

What I can not figure out is what crank I have. I can not find a part number on it anywhere. It does however say "GM 1 1" and "877" in another spot.

Here are some picture, just wondering if this crank would work in a 4.1 build up.

Sure looks like a rolled fillet crank to me, and as far as I know, all 4.1's have the rolled fillet crank.

seems like it was all 252s with four barrel carbs had the rolled crank for sure...could be that some others did as well.

I don't know the casting number. Either I am blind, or it doesn't have one.

Is it supposed to be the typical "255......" number?

Be careful of the 229 cranks. Some come with rolled fillets and so do not. The machine shop that I brought my crank to has a 229 crank and it has no fillets on it.

Yes, "877" is cast into one of the counter weights.

Thanks.
