Hello all,

I took my stereo out today to install a newer type CD and I discovered an electrical connector free floating near the side of the dash pod, up and behind the stereo. It had one black and one white wire and seemed to originate behind the dash.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

Ravi

Could be a harness connection for the optional twilight sentinel.

there are a few unused connections on the harness
behind the radio there should be wires hanging for the ash tray lamp for the ash tray under the radio that the console cars didnt come with . its grey and black wires with a round connector at the end that will accept a push in lamp

It could also be the power source for the the lighted panel that was used on the Limiteds. You should get power at that connector when you turn the headlamps on.

I used it to add lights to my gages, but it turned out to be too much draw for the dimmer switch. Someone posted a fix, but I haven't pursued it, or currently remember what it was.
