After numerous track visits over the years, & not doing a thorough cleaning job in the past, I now want to clean the rubber off the 1/4 panels as best as possible this winter. I could powerwash them & I have access to VERY HOT water as well but that took the paint right off my frame! Wheelwells same thing so I dont want to use that on the paint! I was thinking maybe soak the remaining rubber (after a good wash) with something like WD-40 or Rust check & let that loosen it up over a few days time? Sound safe? Other ideas? Thanks!

wd 40, gojo (non pumice form), or a bug and tar cleaner....then, before you go again, spray them with Pam

Best thing I have found that works is your garden hose and your other hand!

Bug and Tar or WD-40. :)
Steve? Spray them with Pam? I've seen websites like that. Didn't know her name was "Pam".

This is a couple year build up with some minor washing only. Its on pretty good! Think I'll try the Wd-40 first & go from there. Thanks!

Kerosene in a spray bottle, works as good or better than WD-40 and much cheaper and you can spray the panel down good and then soak a clean rag/cotton towel in kerosene for extra punch (you will need a few) and start whipping. Then watch the $hit disappear. "Trust me" I have done this alot. Pledge works too like Pam to help keep the rubber from sticking. :usa:

It is very important to take care of the interior of the car and in order to remove scratches and restore the original appearance of leather, vinyl moldings and plastic, I decided to use surface protection products. I have been looking for a good product for a long time and I was lucky to find tips on choosing protective products and skin conditioners on the blog Best car interior dressing | Interior dressing for auto detailing also here is the best interior dressing for cars process and I chose a product called Fortador LeatherVinylTrim, it helped me a lot with surface treatment in the car interior.
