Not Limp home mode, but Batch fire mode. The injector firing is different. Any autoparts store should stock or be able to get the cap for you. Last time I checked it was about $25. Cheap and easy fix... powersix

DOES IT REGULATE THE COMPUTER TO NOT ALLOW ANY CHANGES? I WAS RACING THE CAR AND CHANGES WOULD NOT IMPROVE PERFORMANCE ? angrymou
No, it does not regulate the ecm. It simply goes to batch fire mode rather than sequential. Used to be an old trick to try to get a bit more fuel-unplug it and make the run.

There should be little "felt" difference. Wonder if your cam sensor needs to be adjusted slightly after you replace the cap?
