How will a converter act when or if it gives trouble? I just put a used D-5 in, now seems like I'm getting slip and trans is acting funny. Trans was in great shape prior to install. Trans was a factory GM NEW replacement prior to the 6/60 running out. It was replace with correct BFR trans, they just installed wrong converter. I put less than 5k on this trans. Now I'm getting slip.

I think you answered your own question. A new stock style converter is not much more money than what you paid for a used D5. If it was full of metal it could of did damage to your tranny also. Check with one of the Buick Tranny vendors they will set you up with what you need.

Converter came out of 70k car that a 50 plus year old women used as a daily. Trans was not hurt in the car it came out of.

I'm only getting slip when I take off, not on shifts.

Any ideals?
Anything I could look for on a Direct Scan?

Tks,

Mine flared big time at Englishtown in the GN.

I noticed it slipping on direct scan looking at the rpms near shifts and then the KR counts. ugh

Wasn't too pretty...

All better now however. powersix
