I found this in the bottom of my oil pan, along with small metal shavings while changing my oil pan gasket with the engine in the car. Does anyone recognize this piece? It is about 2" long and 3/8" wide.

Time to pull some caps and inspect the bearings. The car was running fine, just leaking oil everywhere. This is an 89 TTA btw.

Pulled the rear two main bearing caps and the bearings look good. Looks like I may have dodged a bullet with the metal shavings. The pickup screen and the oil filter did their job!!

That's a piece of head gasket you found from one that was previously blown.

Ah, thanks!!! I was at a total loss what it is. It didn't fit anything I could see, lol.
