ok picked this one up a the auction have 250.00 in it, drove it home. a little rough but nothing that cannot be fixed. it's a 88 one year only (ha ha), one of the rarest since the taillights are a one year. Any way trying to decide if i should put the turbo buick motor in it or the 86 hardtop i have. the buick v-6 has some blow bye so the headgaskets or rings may be shot, not sure but it's a new motor. trying to get an opinion from the vert owners and the hard top guys, what does everyone think ??? to many regulations on verts drag racing, heard there was roll bar rule for 13.50 and faster, thanks ted

You can put a six point in the hardtop and be legal for 10.0's.... The vert would require a full rollcage. If your tracks aren't that strict then choose which one you prefer to drive.

My '87 RX-7 with some weight reduction was 2670lbs with 1/2 tank gas after GN conversion. You would be lucky to get a convertible under 3,000lbs with weight reduction.

Just depends if 3mph+ or 3 tenths+ faster is worth it to you.
