As part of the motor rebuild the AC hoses where disconnected. What is the accepted wisdom on whether or not to do the R134/a conversion as part of the re-assembly?

If it matters, the system was working properly before it was disassembled and it has been apart for 4 months...

Is it something that a DIY can do with a kit? If so where to you get the kit?

Thanks for any help you can provide

First of all anytime a system is opened you must vacume the system for at least 30 minutes.

R134A is easy to retrofit. I have done lots and changed nothing but the oil.

I reccomend taking it to a shop once your engine is finished and have it vacumed properly and recharged
