I don't say 3.5" inches bs because large tires may hit the fender lip.

On the other hand, 4.5" will put a 275 right against the frame on the inside.

Centerline has a few tires (Terminator series as I recall) that are 8" with 4" bs and they fit well. I have the Autodrag IIIs on a car in the rear and they fit very well.

I don't thnk so but would not swear to it. The GNX clones seems to be about 4 3/8s b.s. I run 255s on them with some clearance. You could install aluminum drums and space them out an 1/8" more than the iron drums.

not sure for a 255. I run 245s on the front on the same wheel.

I believe the stock 86/87 wheels (gn steel) are around 3 7/8s. I used to run 245s on them with minor rubbing at full lock.

I have 4.5" welds on one of my cars..think it has 225s.

No...I meant the GNX clones that were 4 3/8s

I ran 255s on the rear and 245s in the front. (245 x 50-16s)

I also ran 245s on the stock wheels that were 3 7/8s as I recall. 245 x 60 x 15)

On my son/s car, it has 15" Weld Dragstars. Fronts are 4.5" bs and rears are 3.5"

I don't like the 3.5s as wider tires tend to rub the fender lip and the 4.5s allow them to rub the frame...

In general, with 8" wheels most cars seem to like 3.75 to 4.375" bs....some cars have the body sitting to one side or the other and one side may have more/less clearance than the other.
