Another TSO racer sets a new "best" today!

Just got a call from Avon, he ran a 8.89 at 158 on drag radials on his fresh engine. A little bit more tuning and working on the traction "tricks" in the program, he is on his way to running a number! This is at 3500# with a Champion headed stage 2 using a t5 flanged 88 turbo.

1.36 60ft
5.80 1/8 ET
124.0 1/8 mph
8.89
158

WOW Avon, you got an eight sec ride!!

Was that previously Patricks T-type from PTE?

I just realized he is almost at 160MPH in a heavy car. That's some power.
(let me go to the HP calculator...)

I've seen Avon run it before.

8.89 = ~980hp but should trap 153. If we plug in 158, thats an 8.60ish at 1080ish hp. Given he left easy on DR's I'd bet on the latter...

Either way, thats SMOKIN! Congrats Avon!

Congrats Avon,
That car is really haulin out the back door with 34 mph in the big end. I hope to see you guys next year at some of the TSO races. I've also been looking at the NOPI races and may try a few of those if they fall in the schedule.

I acutally got my back together today for... hmmm... about 6 hours Made a shakedown run looked good. Made a 25 psi run and went [email protected] looking better. Turned it up to 30 hoping for an 8.70 and didn't even make it to the 330' mark before I torched a HG. Something went wrong and the car went super lean. Nothing hurt but the HG and a small mark on the cyl head which is easily fixed. I got lucky. I thought for sure I cracked the head since I didn't do anything to the car to make it lose a HG. This was the same tune I ran numerous high 8 low 9 second passes on at Indy and BPG. ALways something. At least I didn't find this out at Norwalk or BG Not looking good for ATCO but there is the off chance I will get it back together in time. Depends on work.
