| Registered User | I posted a while ago that I was selling a TE-60 turbo From Limit engineering,I purchased it brand new & it did not have even 300 miles on it,I got a private Email from A local WNY Buick member that was interested on my turbo,He offered me a trade his TE-44 & $250 for my Turbo(Since I did not want to change stall convertor & I still wanted to drive my car on street)I accepeted,He told me he bought the TE-44 New from Limit engineering & that it had less than 3thousand miles on it.So I traded got the money,& did not put turbo on right away,I installed the turbo & noticed it was leaking oil a lot right were the turbo shield goes,It was leaking so bad I pulled it out the same day,I sent the turbo to limit engineering& got some horrible news,The turbo was not from them but from PTE & it was built in 1996,also the turbine wheel was junk the thrust bearings shot basically the turbo was a piece on junk!So I giving fair warning Im not going to mention any names yet,I gave you a NEW turbo from John Craig It is all documented I was honest,In return I basically got a core!We have to talk seriously As Im not a name dropper, the turbo is a Limit right now,We need to square up |

| I wouldn't protect him. Happens to often. I personally don't like buyin used stuff lookin for a bargain, especially a turbo. People love to unload their past problems then say "it was workin fine" Why did you want to get rid of the 60? |

| What happens when you try to contact them directly? Are they avoiding you, and hiding, ignoring, and denying it? Would they just happen to have an address about 25-30 miles N. of Syracuse? We're always very sorry to hear of these sorts of situations, and hope yours gets corrected fast. Our advice is to do whatever it takes and stay busy on the case until you've got a satisfactory resolution.

| I got no e-mails from you,no telephone calls from you and you came here(my house),looked at the turbo, rode in the car, there was no in-out play at all,no noise,my intercooler is still uncleaned and FREE OF ANY OIL,no indication of a problem at all was there? Why you came right to this board instead of contacting me directly I can only guess is your way of trying to get folks on your side before they hear my version. This is between me and you,I did'nt say I bought it new, I did say it had 6-7k miles on it and THAT WAS WHY YOU GOT $250 FOR A TURBO THAT COST THE SAME BRAND NEW! Do you think I'm an idiot? Did it appear to have alot of miles?,no it did'nt I have hundreds of pictures to prove it.Did anyone at the track rental see ANY smoke come from my car that they can recall? Did the car not run flawlessly when you rode in it? Did you see or smell any smoke at all? Everything is still in my garage apart including the intercooler,it can be looked at by a neutral club member to verify. It is obvious it has not been touched since removed. There is no oil whatsoever visible in any of the pics of my engine,I have a good amount of them and they are full size 2.2 megapixel so there will be no way to deny that.YOU FAILED TO POST THAT YOU PROMPTLY TOOK THE TURBO HOME,TOOK IT ALL APART AND POLISHED AND PORTED THE HOUSING! How do I Know what happened from then on and if YOU did'nt cause it? Did'nt you see a problem then?? Did you decide to bolt it on anyhow? This was not bought sight unseen, you had a choice and to make it even because of the stated mileage I threw in the extra cash, which I really did'nt want to do but did anyhow. You did see that the wheels were spotless, there were no blades chipped and you could see a ID stamp of some sort on the compressor wheel. It had no play, you looked it over yourself,if your competant enough to port and polish then you should be able to tell a CORE from a working unit right? I hope you are not trying to hustle me here because you messed up,I am already suspicious by how you went right here instead of sending me anything,calling(E-mail for my number if you like)or even dropping by if none of the latter are working for you.I have never had a problem other than being ripped off by a member for a laptop and some know my car well enough to back me up.Send me an e-mail or give me a call if you have my number,I'm not posting here again about this, the only reason I did is because I have to get my side out.Sorry if this cause a rift in the club, from now on I am just going to deal with vendors.I could have just kept the 44 but wanted an extra bit to help me meet my performance goals,I have a decent income and a good moral sense and don't need to hustle anyone for parts. If the turbo I got from you had only 3k then why was it so rusty? You said it was getting wet from a leaky roof or something,if it is bad then I am on my own right? Sure I would be pissed but then again I did'nt tamper with it either and realize I took a chance when I accepted it from you on an as is basis after I looked it over real good. |

| Ive seen this turbo at the track and it was flawless at our last meeting, no smoke, no oil, nothing. I can vouch for Dave on this one, this turbo was immaculate when it came off of his car. Kevin |

| Registered User | Sorry guys i have been real busy,1st I did not mention any names,&Im not the type to "get over" on people.the TE-60 was purchased new from Limit & I have all the receipts, the turbo i traded you had minor rust on it from my garage (leaky roof near my paint booth, its fixed now) there was no rust in turbo just minor suface rust on the side.2nd I did not take turbo apart all I did was unbolt housing to buff out the bell & I kept my elbow.3rd I did check the turbo out & it appeared fine, till I put it on my car & noticed it leaking oil like crazy,I promptly took it out & sent it to John Craig(you told me it was from limit but he told me it is from PTE built in 1996,I would have never did the trade if I new that)Also you told me it had some 3000 miles on it,The TE-60 didnt even have 500 miles on it,All I can say is the turbo I got from you was spent,I had to get it fully rebuilt, for all that I could have just kept the TE-60,4th I did not mention your name I kept it private you brought it out in the open. |
