KISS shoulda played the second and third periods against the Flyers tonight too.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played live, Janet's boob was dead though.

The Who are one of the best all time Rock Bands I think Roger's great voice went around 1985 though.

Didn't see the performance, but I'm not too partial to partial song medleys.

Roger Daltrey wasn't thrilled with the Who's performance at Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show in Miami. Daltrey told ESPN.com, "It didn't even feel like a concert. It's a television show. And what can you do in 12 minutes? I thought it went OK. I understand. It's a TV show. Cameras were everywhere. I was so blinded that I couldn't see."

He said that he had hoped for some more crowd participation: "I really wished the crowd would have gotten into singing the songs with us more. That's how it is in Europe for our soccer matches. I wanted more banter." Daltrey went on to joke: "Miami is so different these days. It's not just a retirement community. Now Miami is fun and hip, and I'm too old to enjoy it."

Pete Townshend seemed to have enjoyed the performance -- which was seen by over 100 million viewers worldwide -- a bit more than Daltrey, explaining to pollstar.com, that he understood that the Who were hardly the big draw of the day, "You know, you could kind of tell from the stage the crowd is really here for the game. It was nice for that reason. It was nice to feel a part of something and not having it all to be about us. We're too far gone to care, I think. It's extraordinary. You forget how big sport is and how every week it happens . . . I'm not trying to be humble but we felt like a very small piece of a huge team."

Fans were debating whether Townshend would smash his first guitar since 2004 at Sunday's big game. Townshend and Daltrey spoke to the NFL Channel and recalled the Who's early guitar smashing days after being asked how many guitars Townshend smashed during the band's career: "(Townshend) Probably far less than you'd imagine. In the early days when I used to do it a lot, I used to rebuild (Daltrey) We couldn't afford to break them so we used to glue them and break them again! (laughs) (Townshend) Roger's a practical man and when we were kids, we couldn't afford expensive guitars so Roger used to make them (and) he taught me how to repair wood and repair guitars and make guitars and so right the way through the early '60s, I must've repaired as many guitars as I broke, if not more."

Townshend's bandmate, Roger Daltrey, was concerned that many of the millions watching on TV would take a bathroom break during the Who's performance.

i miss thunderfingers

considering its a miracle that them 2 are still alive at all, much less still playing rock and roll after what they've put their bodies through, amazing! the who where the original punk rockers, and where the real deal. playing guitar, as well as pete does, while singing, is no cakewalk. roger's been yelling his vocal chords to the max his entire life. he has to change the melodys a bit to still sing some the songs, but again, all things considering.
ringos kid zak on drums compliments them quite well. way better player technically and time keeper than keith was imo, (or up until after 1973 or so when keith was just way to messed up all the time)
i'm just disapointed they played something as cheeseball as the "superbowl". leave the superbowl halftime to the dopey lip syncing/dancing crap stars

They did a great job and so did who ever set up that stage, it was a very cool visual show.

But I'm a bit perplexed at why The Who are playing the biggest watched event in American and in 2010???
SB15 makes sense but SB44??

They probably don't even like Football seeing they're not American and is the NFL market 45-65 now??

Damn Janet Jackson, she really put the suits in an uproar and we're never going to see a modern band for probably 10 more years.

I think you have it right, target audience 45-65 (TV baby boomers).

I am 40 and I was on vacation down in Cuba with my wife and son, but I stayed up in the room and watched the game, and I loved every minute of it!!!
