| Yes, using a screwdriver and a matchbook for a feeler gauge. ![]() What are you working on? Dirtbike? Jetski? CVCC? They're not supposed to close all the way, hence the 'gap'. At least as far as I've known. You wouldn't close your spark gap right?

| I'm working on a Honda CB450 motorcycle. The new points wouldn't close to specs.

| Yay! It's running. Starts right up and purrs like a kitten at 900rpm idle. ![]() Anyone ever do strobe timing on an old Honda? When I remove the alternator cover, oil pours out. How the hell can I run and strobe the engine with all that oil?

| i use a clear sight plug on my bikes they are v twins. hondas should have something similar. screw it in there and shine the light through it. if you find one be carfull not to screw it in so far that it hits the crank. ![]()
__________________ 86 grand national 2nd owner t tops, digital dash and few other options. bone stock no mods(yet!!) brought back from the dead. new paint and interior 85 regal t type clone, blue in and out , carb. turbo stock engine , no ecm, msd btm,holley blue fuel pump, 650 holley double pump carb. 3.73 gear with mini spool,all the gauges, stock trans and conv. slow but fun!!
